The Green Side of Madeira

Our last mini break was perhaps the best ever, staying at Casas da Levada in Ponta do Pargo, on the west end of the main island of Madeira. Since its creation, Casas da Levada has adopted permaculture values throughout its design and space, a sustainable environment in balance and harmony with nature.
It also comes complete with its own little Hobbit Hole, which has been tastefully transformed into a bar! Bible Baggins wouldn’t leave home so easily if he knew this was here. Our relaxing days visiting this unspoilt end of the island usually end at the “Hobbit” bar, where everyone gathers in the early evening to watch the sunset!
